Oncologists regularly go to regional conventions to learn about new treatments and the latest technologies. VPRIV built a booth to engage them in conversation about new treatments. To entice the convention goers, we used games to get users talking at the booth.
Our creative team conceived of an iPad game where oncologists could race against each other using individual iPads located inside the booth. A leaderboard digital display shared the winning times real time.
We brainstormed this in a conference room with a whiteboard. I created an outline on the board and then drew out how it would work in a high level user flow with game rules as the team gave feedback in realtime. I then went back and fleshed out all the details of the driver rules and user flow. We regrouped and tweaked and agreed on a final version. The art director and I designed the game closely together on a very tight timeline and I put together the functional specifications together as we went along. I met with the developers multiple times to get it done on time and answered any questions they had on the functional specifications.
No one from the creative team was able to attend the convention due to budget but the client was very happy with the results and they had more doctors at their booth then they had in the last nine years of their record of attendance.
